For the first time in Nepal, a pregnant woman has died of coronavirus.

A 29-year-old pregnant woman from Ramche, Barhabise Municipality, Sindhupalchowk has died due to corona, the Ministry of Health has confirmed in a statement.

After testing positive for PCR at Dhulikhel Hospital, he was sent to the National Public Health Laboratory in Teku for re-testing. Test at Teku also showed a corona positive in the deceased.

The deceased was brought to Dhulikhel Hospital after she was found to have respiratory problems. He died on the way to the emergency room, the hospital said.

The woman had given birth to the baby on April 7 at the Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu. She was discharged from the hospital the next day. After the discharge, she reached her home in Ramchey, Sindhupalchowk.

She was later taken to a health center in Barhabise on May 22 after he developed respiratory problems. Although the results of the rapid test were negative, Corona was sent to Dhulikhel Hospital as she had symptoms.

At present, both the house and the relatives of the deceased have been sealed. The body of the deceased has been brought to Pashupati Aryaghat for cremation. A Nepal Army and police team brought the body.
